Julia Sudzinsky is a London based 1st AD and Screen Choreographer (ADU, BAFTA, BECTU). Recent screen choreography credits include Sky Original series The Ibiza Affair, feature film The Queen Mary and Channel4/S4C TV drama One Moonlit Night. She enjoys choreographing to storyboard, while guiding movement from to follow the scene grammar’s specific function. Taking what's there and adding the invisible to what the board implies.
Julia Sudzinsky trained in classical ballet at the Heinz-Bosl-Foundation: Ballet Academy of The Bavarian State Ballet under Konstanze Vernon and graduated with distinction from Adriana Radu’s Vaganova and Tarasov pedagogy apprenticeship class (Bolshoi Ballet Academy curriculum). She studied contemporary dance and choreography at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Benesh Choreology in Paris. After retiring from dancing herself, she worked as a staff director with the Bavarian State Opera, as a paramedic with the German Red Cross and graduated with a Directing MA from East 15 Acting School.
Companies she worked with include The Bavarian State Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Tanzmainz of State Theatre Mainz, William Forsythe’s Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Studio Wayne McGregor and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Eastman Dance Company. She is a member of The British Academy of Film and Television Arts and The International Dance Council CID at UNESCO, the official organisation for Dance.
